| Hints & tips ......to help your daily running of the pool |
Chemicals:
-
Never mix or put acid and chlorine together in the water. Always allow 12 hours between one and the other. It is advisable to always add chemicals in the evening and operate the pump during the day and overnight as necessary, in order to obtain the best results. The pool should be safe for swimming after 12 hours.
-
When testing the pool water with a test kit, after putting 5 drops of each solution in the respective compartments of PH and Chlorine, shake well, and compare results with the inner corresponding colour chart. The test kit, using drops, should have an ideal brace of PH and Chlorine. The ideal balance should read:
PH: 7.2 and
Chlorine: 1.5
If the sample of the chlorine is below the brace scale, then chlorine must be added to the pool. If the sample of the acid is above the brace scale (7.6), then acid should be added to the pool.
Pump & Filtration:
-
In very hot temperatures, it is vital that one leaves the pump running for approx. 10-12 hours every day in normal pool dimensions.
-
It is also important to do a backwash once a week, especially when having an automatic pool cleaner (Baracuda)
-
Always check that the Balance tank is full of water, at all times, in the case of overflow pools.
-
Clean baskets of pump and skimmer often from leaves and other debris.
-
To avoid algae: Make sure that all the water of the pool gets filtered as a whole completely, at least once a day. Another important thing is that the right amount of chlorine is thrown into the pool everyday.
-
If an ionizer is installed, it is necessary to check that the acid is set on: 7.2-7.4.
